Hulk Hogan was reportedly the person behind the decision to not have Roode win the TNA World Title in the main event of Bound for Glory on Sunday.
After essentially trying not to get people to order the Bound for Glory PPV earlier in the week when he knocked Roode in an interview with the Busted Open radio show, Hogan followed through on his view that Roode "was not ready" to be TNA champion.
TNA spent several weeks building toward Roode being crowned champion, but Hogan was successful in getting the match finish changed to Roode losing.
How this affects the rest of the roster remains to be seen. After Hogan's interview on Friday, A.J. Styles made it sound like he has heat with Hogan on Twitter, who responded with sarcastic tweets on Sunday.
As we've reported since January, several non-Attitude Era wrestlers currently in their prime have thought about sending feelers to WWE in anticipation of when their TNA contracts expire. The decision to not follow through on Roode's push, especially with Hogan behind the decision, could increase frustration among the group that felt like TNA was finally getting behind a non-Attitude Era star like Roode.
