RAW RESULTS 10/10/11

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- This week's live WWE Raw Supershow started with a three-minute video package recapping the walk-out angle that concluded last week's Raw. Apparently the production truck is working today. They cut to a live shot of the arena, where the announce table was empty. WWE then cut to a backstage shot of an empty locker room area with a few PAs milling around. Triple H then emerged from his locker room, looked around, and started walking down the hallway. Hunter walked through the gorilla position, which was also empty, and his music played.

Hunter slowly walked out on-stage and surveyed the crowd before entering the ring to grab a mic. Hunter said he showed up tonight and apparently the fans showed up. Hunter said he stood in this ring a week ago bewildered, seeing someone he never thought he would see: 55 Superstars, camera guys, techs, referees, and announcers walked out on him. The fans booed. He said he never thought he would see it. Hunter said they didn…

WWE Raw TV preview - big follow-up to "walk-out" angle

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- Following the "walk-out" that concluded last week's Raw episode, WWE will present the next chapter in the angle Monday night from Oklahoma City. For storyline purposes, only five wrestlers are advertised along with on-air COO Triple H. The five wrestlers - John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, C.M. Punk, and Big Show - are also advertised for in-ring action. WWE also recognized on their website that Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Mason Ryan did not walk out on Triple H along with the Big Five.

As for the other wrestlers, WWE advertised Friday night following Smackdown that a "Solidarity Rally" will be held in the Raw parking garage prior to Raw. WWE hinted at a possible scrap between the wrestlers who "walked out" on Triple H and the Big Five who are advertised to appear.

WWE changes local market advertising

By TheWrestlingTimes.com-  the advertising for Raw on the Chesapeake Energy Arena website changed during the week. Currently, the advertising reads: "Triple H vows to absolutely not step down from running Monday Night Raw. Furthermore, Triple H vows that John Cena, C.M. Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus, and the Big Show will headline Monday night's event. However, 55 of the WWE Superstars who walked out last week have vowed not to return until Triple H is removed from power."

In the middle of last week, WWE advertised: "The Game is not fit to lead the company and must, essentially, either appoint a new COO or resign from his post. After one of the most historic Raws in recent history, will the fallout continue from disgruntled WWE Superstars John Cena, C.M. Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Oklahoma's own Jim Ross, and more on Monday night at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena?"

Ring of Honor TV UPDATE

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- Ring of Honor has locked in their TV Taping location for January (and I believe a few more months after that) and will be announcing it this week. I am told its a market that the company hasn't visited in some time.
There are plans to bring in some established names on upcoming tapings to be used to put over ROH talents and help establish the ROH regulars to the masses.

In a correction from last week, Mike Mondo has not yet signed a ROH deal.

The latest episode of ROH TV, featuring an incredible Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong ROH title bout and more is now available to Ringside members at www.rohwrestling.com.

UWF HOOD JUSTICE REVIEW

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- Following up on their debut show at First Blood, the Urban Wrestling Federation returned to PPV with their second event, Hood Justice. The UWF is a company that blends hip hop music and professional wrestling, an interesting combination that is sort of the same idea as the Rock & Wrestling Connection the WWF did in the mid 80s, except that in the UWF, the musicians become much bigger parts of the overall storylines and each have their own crew of wrestlers which represent the rapper's hometowns and "business" interests.
The show opens with a video package recapping the events of First Blood, including the infamous scene at the end of the PPV where Big Block's crew fired gunshots at Homicide and Slyck Wagner Brown as they sped away in a car. We then go to a backstage vignette as 40 Glocc and Eddie Carnage told Cuban Link he should get out of town, then plotted to take Link out after he left.

Now we head to the Hammerstein Ballroom for our o…

NEW SHAWN MICHAELS BOOK

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- Chris Jericho wrote on Twitter that he would be appearing on Nancy Grace's show tonight on Headline News, quipping that he was going to go to Raw but heard no one would be there.
The Australian version of Gizmodo interviewed CM Punk at this link. Punk admitted that he initially didn't want to use Twitter because he's an old school type of guy and couldn't see the likes of Dick Murdoch using it, but eventually came around to realizing that it's a great tool to immediately reach the masses. Punk also discusses how the persona he portrays is pretty much himself, but commented, "I’m not some crazy person who thinks, you know, I am not Phil Brooks anymore [CM Punk's real name] but I got into wrestling because I could pick a cool nickname and be a GI Joe guy! All the GI Joe guys had codenames – CM Punk is my codename. At the same time, I’m not playing someone. I’m not a phoney Russian! I’m not an astronaut, I’m not a clown, I’m a straigh…

SMACKDOWN Nielsen Rating

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- The 10/7 edition of Smackdown did a 2.04 rating with 3,034,000 viewers.

The past three weeks with a 2.02 rating and an average of 3.0 million viewers for the Friday, October 7 edition, up from a 1.95 rating last week.

The demographic ratings scored equal to or above the key demo ratings for the September 23 episode that scored a record 2.30 overall rating. Among younger teen males, Smackdown scored higher than Sept. 23. In males 12-17, Smackdown scored its highest rating in 20 weeks.

On cable TV Friday night, Smackdown ranked #8 overall, #3 among males 18-34, and #2 among males 18-49, trailing the MLB Playoffs, which averaged 8.3 million viewers. Among females 18-34 & 18-49, Smackdown ranked in the Top 10 on the night. The strong performance among female viewers is reflected in the overall adults 18-49 rating being virtually even with the rating on Sept. 23.

It seems like a number of factors are adding up to a consistent performance the past three weeks - Mar…

Crimson On his comparisons to Goldberg "I don't follow Goldberg on Twitter. I don't pay attention to Bill Goldberg these days"

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- The following are highlights with TNA wrestler Crimson On Monday Night Mayhem:

On his early success: "It's been a huge year thus far. When I was signed, I was thrown right into the mix pretty quickly, and things took off very soon. I'm always ready for anything and can adapt to anything. I'm trying to do the best I can. The fact is that I was put into a main spot, and in my opinion, I think I have been doing fairly well. I don't like to brag as far as as the feedback goes. From the people behind the scenes, I've handled everything pretty well."

On his looking forward to getting better: "I'm not going to sit here, and point out my flaws, and what I think I'm doing wrong, but there is always room for improvement and always a way to better yourself. It's just taking small critics from agents, and producers, and the people that really matter, applying it and making yourself better. I see a lot of the feedback from peop…

Bobby Roode News

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- TNA standout  Bobby Roode continues to be a performer to watch.

The 34-year-old Ontario, Canada, native has come into his own during the past couple of years.

His passion for the business shone through in a recent interview with his hometown newspaper, The Peterborough Examiner, as he reminisced about playing ball hockey in the street as a young boy and imagining scoring the winning goal in the Stanley Cup final.

“This is my Stanley Cup,” said Roode, referring to his upcoming world title match with TNA champion and former Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view Oct. 16 in Philadelphia. “This is the furthest I have ever gone (singles) and definitely the highlight for me in my years of wrestling. It is the kind of thing I dreamt about when I was younger and first got started.”

Roode may be finally getting a well-deserved push in singles competition, but it was his work as a tag-team specialist that put him on the wrestling map. Roode’s …

Ric Flair labels himself the luckiest man in the world

By TheWrestlingTimes.com- Good news for 16-time world champ “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

Flair, 62, who was told two weeks ago that he would have to undergo surgery due to a torn triceps suffered during a match with Sting last month, may not have to have surgery after all.

“It’s postponed right now, but I may not even have to have it,” says Flair. “The doctor looked at it and said the thing was healing itself.”

Flair had already signed in at the hospital and had a brace fitted when the doctor checked on him. “He told me it was a miracle. He said, ‘Ric, you’re one in a million.’”

“I’m the luckiest guy in the world,” says Flair.

Flair attended a benefit show for Shane “Hurricane” Helms Wednesday night in his hometown of Charlotte.

TNA Impact Wrestling Review

By THE Wrestling Times -  it’s the first of two Impact Wrestling taping from Knoxville,TN before going into Bound for Glory.  Tonight is Hulk Hogan’s formal announcement of his retirement from Professional Wrestling.  Will Hogan change his mind and what will Sting have to say about Hogan’s retirement?  Also tonight is the match that fans have been waiting for as “The Cowboy” James Storm faces his tag team partner, Bobby Roode.  Will Roode continue with his momentum going into Bound for Glory or will Storm stop Roode’s momentum in its tracks?  Well, if you don’t know by now, the Sensational One has the answers to these questions.  So ask yourself this one question?   “Are you ready to feel the Impact?”
Impact Wrestling kicks off with a package on Hulk Hogan’s history in TNA.  Decent package that was put together but not as good as the Bobby Roode package.  Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are shown arriving in the back of the Knoxville Civic Coliseum as Mike Tenay and Taz hype Hogan’s formal…
